The policies and procedures of the setting which are put in place

The policies and procedures of the setting which are put in place, can help young people to make a positive contribution because they can help motivate and engage students in lessons. For example, the rewards policy ensures that students receive positive reinforcement, whether that be by verbal praise, positive points, a postcard home or an award of some kind. When the student receives these kinds of rewards, it will encourage and inspire them to keep putting effort in to their work and making contributions within school – as they know they will be recognised for what they are doing – which will make them feel good about themselves.
